19-10-2011:Moorrabbin Open 2011
 A large contingent of Mornington Peninsula players descended upon the 2011 Moorabbin Open recently with some pleasing results: Mens A Grade Consolation Plate Winner: Mark Thurkle Womens A Grade Runner Up: Janine Eedy Special Plate Winner: Anne Fordham Plate Winner: Simone Rossetto Womens B-C Grade Runner Up: Libby Belton Mens C Grade Runner Up: Jon Tiktin Mens D Grade Runner Up: John Webber Others from the Mornington Peninsula to compete were Darryl Kennedy, David Docherty, Michael Brynes, Nigel McBride, Roger Child, Tyson Lewis and Waka Elers.
19-09-2011:MPSRA Rosebud Tournament 2011
 The MPSRA tournament held at Rosebud Squash Courts on the 19th, 20th and 21st August was extremely successful. Thank you to all of those sponsors who contributed either money or prizes. Special thanks to those who worked so hard to make the event run smoothly. In particular: John Webber for months of work in the organisation stage Joy Webber and Sharon Chapman for giving up their weekends to serve the food Bob Cole for new court lines Flip Steward who painted, cleaned and worked the counter Bill Patterson who referreed for three days Len Steward who, still recovering from illness, did the draw and then ran the tournament for the entire three days A magnificent effort by all. Thanks also to all of the competitors, without them there would be no event. 18-07-2011:New Season Starts - Spring 2011
 We are off and running with the Spring 2011 season! Sections 4 and 5 commence 18th July. Sections 1,2 and 3 commence 25th July. PLEASE READ YOUR FIXTURES CAREFULLY! Tyabb, Lysaghts and Navy all start at 7.30pm. Towerhill are using both Toorak College and Cranbourne as their home venues. When Towerhill are playing at Toorak College it is a Monday 7:15pm start.
18-07-2011:Welcome Navy
 The Mornington Peninsual Squash Association would like to welcome two new Navy teams to our competition for Spring 2011. The Navy teams are playing from HMAS Cerberus, Crib Point. We wish them the best of luck. To find the courts at HMAS Cerberus turn right into Park Road, turn right and proceed to the guard house.

31-05-2011:Mornington Peninsula Open Squash Tourament 2011
 

The Mornington Peninsula Open Squash Tournament will be held on 19th, 20th and 21st August, 2011 at Rosebud International Squash Centre, Rosemore Road, Rosebud. Over $4,000 on offer in the prize pool. Entry is only $35. On site catering will be available and there will be ample local accommodation. If you only enter one Tournament this year, this is THE ONE! Entries close at 6pm on Friday 12th August.  ENTRY FORM IS AVAILABLE ON THE "FIXTURES" PAGE OF THIS WEB SITE. Players will be guaranteed 3 matches.

 It is with regret that the Committee of the MPSRA inform you of the passing of Liz Longfield on 21/4/11. Liz was a former member of Dromana Squash Club and was heavily involved in the Ladies Day and Night Competitions in the 1990's.

 A very big thank you to Joy Webber for all her dedication as President and Secretary of Mt Eliza Squash Club over many years. Joy has recently resigned her positions and been replaced by Mark Roberts as President and Paul McVilly as Secretary.

07-02-2011:Autumn 2011 Season Commences
 The new fixture has been added. The season commences for Sections 3 4 and 5 on 7th February and for Sections 1 and 2 on 14th February.
27-01-2011:Peninsula Squash Club Disbanded
 It is with regret that we inform that Peninsula Squash Club have decided to fold. Their players will be incorporated into teams from Rosebud and Towerhill Squash Clubs.
27-01-2011:Towerhill Squash Courts
 

Excel Gym have left the building untennanted for now, however while a new tennant is being found Rob Seddon is planning on opening the courts, in a caretaker capacity, on weekdays only from 6 to 9pm and the courts will also be available for pennant at this stage.

Towerhill Squash Club are in the process of giving the centre a good clean and we will advise of any developments as they come to hand.

29-11-2010:Annual General Meeting
 The Annual General Meeting of the MPSRA is to be held at 240 Boundary Road, Dromana (offices of Guardian Pest Control) at 7.30pm sharp on Wednesday 8th December, 2010. All clubs are asked to send at least one committee member but all players are welcome to attend.
02-09-2010:Section 1 Fixutre Change - Open
 From 2nd September, 2010 there is a fixture change for Section 1 in the Open Competition. Please note that the Peninsula team now has a 7.30pm starting time.
26-07-2010:Peninsula Squash Club Champion 2010
 Congratulations to Sam Polatidis who defeated Mike Spelling in the grand final of the Peninsula Squash Club 2010 Champtionships. Unfortunately, for the rest of the club, in particular Mike,  he seems to be making this a regular habit!!!
15-06-2010:Hopman Cup Results 2010
 

Our grade 1 team were runners up to Geelong, each side having won all of their previous rounds. The last match of the round was the decider and it was very close. The players in that team were Glen Hind, Leon Crooke, Shaun Simonsen, Janine Eedy, Eileen Donaldson, Aleasha Kramme, Josh DeGregorio and Charlotte Roberts.

Team 2, our grade 3 team won their grade, having won all rounds. The players were Roger Child, Mark Thurkle, Dan Fleming, Graham Pittock, Anne Fordham, Simone Rosetto, Mandy Knudsen, Hamish Donaldson, Harry Pittock, Emily DeGregorio.

We had spare player so Carly Fleming and Lib Belton played for Benella.

Congratulations to all who played. We trust you had a very entertaining weekend away.

18-05-2010:Graeme Simkin
 

The MPSRA would like to pass on their condolences to the family of Graeme Simkin who passed away on 15th May, 2010.

Graeme lived and breathed squash. Having started playing for Frankston Squash Club in the early 1970's he went on to serve as Vice-President for 7 years aswell as taking on various other roles as President, and Match & Pennant Co-Ordinator when necessary. Graeme was a life member of the Frankston Squash Club which then became Peninsula Squash Club. He continuted his role as Match & Pennant Co-Ordinator for the Peninsula Squash Club right up unitl his death. Having retired from pennant in 2005 he was coaxed back for one more memorable performance in 2009 at the ripe ofd age of 75.

A real character of the game he will be sorely missed.

The funeral for Mr Graeme Michael Simkin will be held at Tobin Brothers Spirit of Life Chapel, 232 Cranbourne Road, Frankston on Thursday May 20th commencing at 2.00pm. Private cremation refreshments will be serviced at the conclusion of the Service.

The MPSRA would like to send their condolences to the family of Roman Horoway who passed away on February 4th. Roman was a member of Dromana Squash Club for many years. A gentlemen on and off the court he will also be remembered for the way he used those very long arms and legs to exaggerate any interference in order to be rewarded with a let or a stroke! All done with a twinkle in his eye!

The funeral service for Roman will be held at the New Peninsula Church, 370 Craigie Road, Mount Martha on Friday 12th February, 2010 at 2.30pm. A private cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Radiology - Alfred Hospital.

05-02-2010:Grand Prix Circuit Results
 

Points are awarded to players finishing position in the Squash Victoria Grand Prix Circuit events. The players with the highest number of points in their category are recognised as the Victorian Grand Prix Circuit Champion for that particular grade.

The 2009 Victorian Graded Champions will be presented with their awards at a special ceremony.

The MPSRA would like to congratulate the following players on their results:

26-10-2009:World Masters Games 2009 Results
 

The Mornington Peninsula was represented by Janine Eedy and Ron and Phil Glass in the 2009 World Masters Games in Sydney recently.  Janine returned with silver medals in the Ladies 40-45 B Grade and the Teams 35+ B Grade. Ron returned with a silver medal in the Mens 60-64 C Grade and Phil who also competed most admirably in the Ladies 50-54 C Grade was said to win the unofficial award for the most sociable player!!! Congratulations to all.

13-07-2009:Peninsula Squash Club Championships
 

Peninsula Squash Club held their annual club championships in the break between seasons. Great fun was had by all and the club would like to congratulate their club champion for 2009 Sam Polatidis  who defeated Mike Spelling in the grand final .

15-06-2009:Victorian Country Teams Championships
 

2009 VICTORIAN CHAMPIONS!

The Victorian Country Teams Championships were held in May at Gladstone Park Squash Centre. The MPSRA entered two teams in the event, one in section 1 the other in section 3. Each team consisted of three men, three women a junior boy and a junior girl. To be eligible for selection players have to reside more than 50km from the Melbourne GPO.  

The event was contested strongly and both teams performed admirably. Our section 1 team placed 3rd  and the Section 3 team placed 4th overall. Our teams consisted of the following players:
